Proposal for ESBA to Convert to a SCIO
(Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation)

The committee voted in favour of converting our association to a SCIO.
18th November 2019
The proposal to become a SCIO was shared with all members and all members were provided with a draft constitution and requested to submit questions and comments accordingly.
A SGM (Special General Meeting) was timetabled for 02nd December 2019.
02nd December 2019
A SGM was held. The change of status to SCIO was discussed and explained. A quorum of 12 members was needed to allow an application for SCIO status to be made to OSCR (Office of the Scottish Charitable Regulator).
The 23 members attending the SGM voted unanimously in favour to proceed.
If the OSCR give their approval in time for the AGM, which is scheduled for the 02nd March 2020, then the SCIO could start on 02 March 2020 under a new constitution.
